Some years ago I read a nice interesting book named “Many Mansions” by Gina Cerminara. One idea I especially highlighted from the book is that as humans, we all come to the world to “learn something from life and give something special to the world.”
Kundalini's yoga path is a long process of learning and experiencing. It's a lifetime journey, sometimes a life-by-life journey. I can tell you with confidence from experience that you can receive a lot of positive benefits and merits from your practice. Also, your relations, family, friends, and society can share in the above benefits from you.
As I look back on my progress, I am truly grateful to my teachers who taught me yoga and meditation. From everyone I learned and experienced something, and I used that knowledge in my teaching. I obtained the knowledge and experience with them.
In this era, yoga has become a big trend and fashion. We can see full yoga asana demonstrations on Facebook and Instagram pages. The positive thing is that yoga asana training is becoming a strong foundation for yoga. The negative thing is that asanas are not all there is to yoga. I have some doubt that many people are really seeking the essence of yoga rather than just looking at the surface effects of yoga.
From time to time I read yoga books and watched yoga videos on the internet. But I feel a deeper feeling and trust in the yoga teaching and training I got directly from my teachers. I believe real yoga learning and teaching is an energy exchange. I feel deep respect for the initiation part of traditional yoga.
What is initiation?
Yogic initiation is a special ritual where yoga teachers and students connect with higher spiritual sources. Traditional teachers could use very secret methods to initiate students.
For example: giving students special training, followed by a special spiritual ritual, or teaching a personal mantra to students, etc.
The purpose of our chakra initiation is as follows:
